Two-step sign-in and recovery codes
A code from your phone as a second step, and what to do if you lose it.
With two-step sign-in on, signing in asks for your password and then a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone.
Turn it on
- Open Settings, then Security.
- Choose Turn on two-step sign-in.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or type the setup key.
- Enter the code the app shows and choose Turn on.
- Save your 10 recovery codes: Copy, Download .txt, or write them down. They are shown only once.
Turning it on signs you out on your other devices. Agents you connected keep working. You can also Add a backup authenticator, for example on a second phone.
Recovery codes
Each code works once. Settings, then Security, shows how many are left. Get new codes gives you a fresh set of 10, and the old ones stop working.
Lost your phone?
- Sign in with your password.
- At the code step, choose Use a recovery code and enter one.
A recovery code signs you in and turns two-step sign-in off, so you can set it up again on your new phone in Settings, then Security. We email you when this happens.
No recovery code either? Write to hello@listspace.app from the address you sign in with. We check that the account is yours and then turn two-step sign-in off.
Sign in without a password
On the sign-in page, Email me a sign-in code instead sends a 6-digit code to your email. With two-step sign-in on, the authenticator step still follows.
