Lists

Lists are the columns of a board, like To do, Doing and Done.

Lists are the columns of a board. Use them for stages (To do, Doing, Done), for topics, or for days of the week.

Add and rename a list

At the right end of the board, choose Add another list (on a new board: Add the first list), type a title and choose Add List. To rename a list or give it a description, click its title.

The list menu

Hover over a list's header to see its buttons:

  • Change list color. A new list has no color. Pick one to tint the list and put a dot before its title, or choose No color to take it off.
  • Mark list important (the flag): its items then show on the Important page.
  • List type: what the list is for (Info, Ideas and bugs, Backlog, To do, Doing, Done, or None). Agents use it to know where work goes. The type shows small under the title when the title does not already say it.
  • Select all items in this list, to move, label or archive them together.
  • Move list to another board or Copy list to a board. A copy takes the items' titles, descriptions, checklists and labels, but not their files or comments.
  • Move to group.
  • Archive list.

Drag a list by its header to put it somewhere else on the board.

Groups

Add a group under the lists makes a named section. Groups can be renamed, colored and folded shut, which helps on a board with many lists. Deleting a group keeps its lists.

Archived lists

An archived list and its items are hidden, not deleted. Bring them back from the board's ⋯ menu with View archived lists.

Lists for agents

Lists can also say what they are for: facts, ideas and bugs, backlog, to do, doing or done. Set it with List type in the list menu. Agents use this to know where things go: they move work to a Doing list when they start it and to a Done list when it is finished. Boards made from the Project (for agents) template come with these lists set up.
