Listspace vs Linear

Linear is an issue tracker built for software teams, and it lets you hand an issue to a coding agent. Listspace is a board for any kind of project, at work or at home, that you and every AI you use keep up to date. If your team ships software, look at Linear first.

Checked October 2026. What it says about Linear is true at the time of writing, from the maker's own pages, listed at the end.

Who each is best for

Choose Linear if

  • A software team tracks issues, projects and cycles.
  • You want to assign an issue to a coding agent such as Codex, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
  • A team of any size works on the free plan, up to 250 issues.

Choose Listspace if

  • Your project is not only code: a client job, a launch, a move, a side project.
  • You use chat assistants like Claude and ChatGPT as much as coding agents.
  • You want an Inbox where you approve what an agent changes.

Connect your AI

About even
Listspace
Claude (every plan, Free included), ChatGPT (Plus or higher), Claude Code, Codex and Cursor connect by signing in. Other AI apps can connect with a personal token.
Linear

Hand work to an agent

Linear is stronger here
Listspace
On Pro, an agent asks for the next item and claims it, so two agents never take the same work. You see which agent is working on what.
Linear
You assign an issue to an agent, such as the Linear Agent, Codex, Cursor or GitHub Copilot, and it starts work. Agents do not count as paid seats.

What your AI may do on its own

Listspace is stronger here
Listspace
You pick a freedom level from Read only to Full, for your account and for each board. What the level does not allow waits in the board's Inbox until you accept or reject it. You can undo an agent's change from History.
Linear
The connector reads, or reads and writes, with your access. There is no Inbox to approve changes first.

Teams

Linear is stronger here
Listspace
Made for individuals and small teams. On Pro, you invite up to 5 guests to a board, such as a client, with no paid seat. A Team plan is coming soon.
Linear
Unlimited members, also on the free plan, which has up to 250 issues and 2 teams.

Price

About even
Listspace
Free to start. Pro is €7.99 a month, or €6.99 a month paid yearly, VAT included. There is no AI fee: it uses the assistant you already have.
Linear
Free plan. Basic is $10 and Business $16 per user a month, billed yearly.

Working with AI, in plain words

Linear is ahead for coding work inside a software team: you assign an issue to an agent and it starts work. If that is your day, Linear is a good choice.

Listspace is for the rest of the work around it, and for people who are not in a software team. Your AI reads the board at the start of a chat in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and keeps it up to date while you work. Plans made in one app are there in the next.

You set a freedom level per board, and what it does not allow waits in the board's Inbox. Decisions, like a price or a launch date, only count once a person confirms them.

Try it with your own AI

Listspace is free to start. Connect Claude or ChatGPT, and ask it to make a board for what you are working on.
