Listspace vs Jira

Listspace is a simple board, free to start, that you and every AI you use keep up to date. You decide what each agent may change, and decisions stay on the board once you confirm them. Jira is made for teams that track work in detail: work items, workflows, permissions and reports, with Rovo AI agents built into the paid plans. If your company already runs on Jira, it suits that well.

Checked October 2026. What it says about Jira is true at the time of writing, from the maker's own pages, listed at the end.

Who each is best for

Choose Listspace if

  • You work on your own or in a small team, and want a board without a setup project.
  • The AI you already use should keep the board up to date, with no AI credits to track.
  • You want to approve what an agent changes, board by board.
  • Decisions should stay on the board, and only count once a person confirms them.
  • You want your boards and files stored in the EU, on every plan, Free included.

Choose Jira if

  • A team needs workflows, roles and permissions for each step of the work.
  • Up to 10 people work on the free plan together.
  • You want agents inside the tool that start when work moves to a column or a workflow step.
  • You want apps for iPhone and Android.

What your AI may do on its own

Listspace is stronger here
Listspace
You pick an agent access level from Read only to Full, for your account and for each board. What the level does not allow waits in the board's Inbox until you accept or reject it. You can undo an agent's change from History.
Jira
Your AI acts with your Jira permissions. Admins choose which AI apps may connect and what the MCP server may read, write and search. There is no Inbox for changes made through it. An agent you assign a work item to shows its output to you first, and you choose to share it.

Connect your AI

About even
Listspace
Claude (every plan, Free included), ChatGPT (Plus or higher), Claude Code, Codex and Cursor connect by signing in. Other AI apps can connect with a personal token.
Jira
Yes. Atlassian's Rovo MCP server works with ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot CLI, Gemini and other AI apps, and can search, create and update work items. Calls from your AI use Rovo credits.

Price

About even
Listspace
Free to start. Pro is €7.99 a month, or €6.99 a month paid yearly, VAT included. There is no AI fee: it uses the AI you already have.
Jira
Free for up to 10 users. Paid plans are priced by how many users you have. Rovo credits come with paid plans, and heavy use may cost extra.

Made for

Jira is stronger here
Listspace
Made for individuals and small teams. On Pro, you invite up to 5 guests to a board, such as a client, a colleague or your partner, with no paid seat. Team, for 2 to 50 seats, is in beta and not open to the public yet.
Jira
Teams of any size. Free for up to 10 users, with fewer permission and role settings than the paid plans.

Hand work to an agent

Jira is stronger here
Listspace
On Pro, an agent asks for the next item and claims it in one step, so two agents never take the same work. You see which agent is working on what.
Jira
On paid plans, you assign a work item to a Rovo agent or a partner agent such as GitHub Copilot, or add an agent to a workflow step or a board column so it starts when work moves there. Agents use Rovo credits.

Automation

Jira is stronger here
Listspace
No rules of its own: your AI does the upkeep. Listspace can also send a signed message to a program you run when something changes.
Jira
Built-in automation rules, with a limited number of steps on the free plan and more on paid plans.

On your phone

Jira is stronger here
Listspace
A simpler page on phones. The full app runs on a computer or a tablet. A phone version is on the roadmap.
Jira
Jira apps for iPhone and Android.

Working with AI, in plain words

Listspace starts from the AI you already use. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor read the board when a chat starts, keep it up to date while you work, and leave a short summary at the end, so the next chat picks up from there. There are no AI credits to count: your own AI plan does the work.

You decide how far that goes. An agent access level per board sets what an agent changes on its own. At Capture, the default, your AI adds ideas, bugs and notes, and everything else waits in the board's Inbox for you to accept or reject. On Pro, an agent asks for the next item and claims it, so two agents never take the same work.

Decisions are the last part. When you agree on a price or a date, it goes on the board as a decision, and it only counts once a person confirms it. Every AI you connect works from the same confirmed decisions.

Jira brings AI agents into a team's own workflow. On a paid plan, you assign a work item to a Rovo agent or to GitHub Copilot, or put an agent on a board column so it starts when work lands there. For a team that already runs on Jira, that is a strong setup.

Try it with your own AI

Try Listspace for the projects that do not need a Jira setup: your own work, a client job, a small team. Connect the AI you already use, and it keeps the board up to date while you work.

Listspace is free to start. Connect Claude or ChatGPT, and ask it to make a board for what you are working on.
